Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Author Guidelines

ARTICLE

Articles signed by up to three authors are accepted.

Title in the original language and in English, and optionally in Spanish, in bold, uppercase, centered, 12-point font;

Abstract in a single paragraph, 10 to 20 lines long, accompanied by three keywords in the original language and in English or Spanish; single-spaced and 12pt, separated by semicolons (;);

Abstract in English and, optionally, a summary in Spanish, following the same guidelines as the Abstract, with keywords;

Subheadings, in uppercase and bold, with single spacing between paragraphs, left-aligned;

Include a brief biographical note on the author(s), up to five lines (each), highlighting academic and professional background, area of expertise, etc.

 


Full text written in Arial 12 pt with 1.5 line spacing; Paragraph indentation: 1.5 cm. The text must be a minimum of 25,000 characters including spaces and a maximum of 50,000 characters including spaces, including bibliographic references and notes.

Footnotes should be used when necessary, exclusively for explanatory purposes or to cite documentary sources.

References to cited works must be listed at the end of the text, in alphabetical order, in Arial font, size 12, and single-spaced. The titles of the works (books or journals) must be written in italics (see examples below, under the REFERENCES section). Each reference must appear in a separate paragraph and be separated by a single space. In the case of sources, these must be listed in the references following the bibliography, under the subtitle SOURCES (bold and uppercase).

Margins must be 2.5 cm on the right, left, top, and bottom.

CITATIONS

Citations within the paragraph must follow these guidelines: provide the complete reference in a footnote upon first mention; for subsequent citations, if any, use the author’s last name in uppercase, followed by the date and page number (e.g., THOMPSON, 1998, p.), also in a footnote.

Quotations of more than 3 lines (4 or more) must be typed in 11-point font, with single line spacing, and set apart from the text by a left margin wider than that of the paragraph (1.5 cm), with a 2 cm indentation; Citations of up to three lines should be integrated into the body of the text and enclosed in quotation marks, followed by a footnote with the citation details, following the same format as citations within the paragraph.

IMAGES AND TABLES

Images, tables, and graphs must comply with the journal’s guidelines.

Tables must be in doc or docx format and in tif/tiff format within the body of the text, with a resolution of 300 dpi;

Images and graphs must be in image file format (jpg and tif/tiff) with a resolution of 300 dpi, within the body of the text;

The titles and footnotes for tables, images, and graphs must appear below the images and graphs;

The images used are copyright-free;

If they are subject to copyright, the copyright holder’s authorization is included in the supplementary documents in writing and signed.

FOOTNOTES

Insert footnotes in Arial font (do not use underlining and use italics only for foreign words), size 10, with single line spacing. Footnotes must be placed at the bottom of the page in print mode (they must be visible on the page).
